The initiators of this blog, the Marlborough Regional Development Trust, foresee great change ahead and believe that each of us bears a responsibility to prepare ourselves, our families, our community and our nation for it.

We live in one of the most blessed places in the world. Marlborough - Aotearoa New Zealand. How can we ensure that Marlborough is the kind of hand-me-down that our children will want to inherit? That will be a role model for other places to follow?These are some of the questions that we are interested in. As Einstein says, you can’t solve a problem with the same thinking that produced it - so how can we facilitate the emergence of new thinking? Or the remembering of old thinking, for that matter.

We can’t solve all the problems, but we can engage people to consider and discuss them.

Agriculture, aquaculture, aviation industries, forestry, manufacturing, tourism and wine growing . They’re all here in Marlborough – and they’re all world class in their own rights.
